Colloque « Chaleur, énergie, thermodynamique - Le message de Carnot aujourd’hui… 200 ans après »

The Académie François Bourdon is organising a conference entitled "Heat, energy, thermodynamics - Carnot's message today... 200 years later" on 21 and 22 November 2024 in Le Creusot.
This event is being organised as part of the bicentenary of the publication of Sadi Carnot's seminal work, "Réflexions sur la puissance motrice du feu et sur les machines propres à développer cette puissance" (Reflections on the driving power of fire and on the machines capable of developing this power), the machines that made the reputation of the Creusot industry.
The aim is to work with industrialists and scientists to decipher Sadi Carnot's message for today and tomorrow, placing thermodynamics at the heart of the conference.
There will be 5 invited lectures, 12 papers and a session for around 20 posters.

The Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire Carnot de Bourgogne (ICB), UMR 6303 CNRS-uB-UTBM is closely involved in the project. It brings together 300 scientists, engineers and technicians in physics, chemistry and engineering sciences from the Bourgogne - Franche Comté region (Dijon, Le Creusot, Chalon-sur-Saône, Belfort-Sevenans). His interdisciplinary research into "light and matter" has thermodynamics as its backdrop.
