The Aillot factory in Montceau-les-Mines dates back to the 19th century. It manufactured steam rollers for public works companies.
The site is now being gradually restored and features a collection of vintage vehicles, including HGVs from 1941 to 1986. Around twenty trucks from the collection are on display, including some remarkable examples such as the Berliet GBC 8 6x6 Sahara driven by Lino Ventura in the film "One Hundred Thousand Dollars in the Sun".
Fourteen of these trucks and the Aillot steam cylinder (3 in working order in the world!) have been listed as Historic Monuments since 2024.
This is your chance to get behind the wheel of some legendary trucks, discover the human adventures of the road in an authentic Greyhound bus, browse our exhibitions such as "Truck and Cinema" and share a moment of conviviality at the Baraillot refreshment bar.
