Two voices moving and two bodies talking, joyfully philosophising about living things.

It was inevitable that Christian Ubl, the Austrian-born choreographer who is now French by adoption, and Gilles Clément, the landscape gardener renowned for his concepts of the "garden in movement", the "planetary garden" and the "third landscape", would one day end up meeting, such has been the intermingling and displacement of their respective destinies.

The meeting did take place, and gave birth to this hybrid show, written for four hands (and four feet) and resembling a philosophical play, in which Gilles talks (but not about just anything: water, time, theories of evolution through the prism of giraffes) while Christian dances (but not just any old way: inspired by the meticulous gestures of a careful gardener) before Gilles moves his body and Christian in turn speaks. This danced discussion, or scenic gardening, as you will, is a poetic and humorous celebration of creation, whether artistic or biological - because, for these two, it's kif kif bourricot...
