No canteens at Schneider!
For a long time, canteens were incompatible with Schneider paternalism, appearing only occasionally during periods of war and after the Second World War, when the contract economy took hold in the factory.
On the contrary, this absence did not prevent the existence of a form of control that put pressure on local trade: monitoring supplies, organising distribution and encouraging domestic practices. Even without canteens, food is a constant and logical priority in Le Creusot.
