Perrueil Aujourd’hui takes you to the Parc des Oiseaux in Villars-les-Dombes.
The Parc des Oiseaux is nature in the open air: 250 species and 2,500 birds to admire across 35 hectares. A unique concept for observing wild birds and birds from around the world. From the African savannah to the Australian bush, from the tropical jungle to the Chilean coast, set off on a true journey around the world during which we discover the most beautiful birds and the most magnificent landscapes across the five continents.
The history of the Parc des Oiseaux is closely linked to its setting, the Dombes region with its 1,000 ponds – a paradise for wild birds. These ponds were created from the Middle Ages onwards for fish farming, particularly carp. The presence of these ponds attracts numerous migratory birds: herons, egrets and teals.
