"Michel Dufour's painting is born of a reservoir of emotions in the face of natural spectacles. He sets himself apart from the painting of release, from the ascetic painting of neurons, from all committed painting. What remains for him are lakes, seas, mountains, forests, skies, storms, the light of days and seasons.
He knows that the mission of modern painting is also to root us in life, to help us discover flavours in things that in our haste we never suspected, in short to intensify our experience of nature.
