Journées européennes du patrimoine : Exposition "En les murs"

What if entering a space also meant entering into oneself?

For this exhibition, Julien Clar, a multidisciplinary artist based in Montceau-les-Mines, takes over the walls of a space now marked by absence and breathes new life into it.

Through three works — an installation, a participatory piece and a text-based work — the artist transforms this space into a place of introspection and contemplation. The walls that usually define our space here become a reflection of our own limitations: those of our perception, our thoughts and the way we inhabit the world.

Visitors are invited to enter this space as they might enter their own inner selves, to make the space their own and to allow the works to wash over them. In particular, they can lay down their regrets, their burdens and their thoughts on *The Wall of Regrets*, before perhaps leaving feeling lighter.

‘En les murs’ thus offers a moment of suspended time, conducive to inner reflection and metacognition: looking at what surrounds us in order to better observe what is happening within us.

The exhibition will be open during Heritage Days, but will remain on display for a month so that the experience can continue beyond the open-house period.
