The University Library of Le Creusot is situated in a venue steeped in history: a former locomotive factory that has been converted into a space dedicated to learning and student life.

The exhibition ‘Heritage in Pictures: From Factory to Library’ invites visitors to rediscover this history through a selection of historical photographs. These images bear witness to the site’s transformations, from its industrial past to its conversion into a university library.

Housed at the heart of the university library, the exhibition will run from 1 to 20 September 2026 and will be open to the public on an exceptional basis on Sunday 20 September, from 2 pm to 6 pm, as part of the European Heritage Days, which this year are dedicated to photographic heritage.

Bridging the gap between industrial heritage and contemporary university life, this exhibition invites visitors to discover or rediscover this ever-evolving space.
